Volunteers

The Hop Garden's volunteers are the backbone to its success - there's always plenty to do and many hands make light work! We meet every Thursday at 10am during the main growing season (normally starting in March/April) and meet regularly until the end of October. There are also opportunities to come along at weekends and evenings during the summer.

There are jobs to suit all levels of experience, and we provide training, tools and other equipment you may need, so you just need to bring along warm clothes (even in summer, usually) and a willingness to get stuck in to the task in hand.

For people who have trouble bending down to garden, we have two high raised beds which can be worked easily from a standing position.

But it's not all work and no play though, as we ensure our volunteers are always well stocked on tea/coffee and biscuits and go home with fresh produce from the garden as a 'thank you' for their efforts.

If you would like to find out more about volunteering, drop in the garden for a chat whenever we're open (ask for Sarah), or send an email to:
thehopgarden@toucansurf.com with your phone number and we'll call you back.
